Your
letter
of the
12th
reached
us
yesterday
hailed
with
joy
although
somewhat
dampened
when
I
saw
you
had
indeed
not
written
until
the
12th-
It
was by
sending
a
person
from here
expressly
that the
mail
was
[illegible
word]
therefore
enclose
your
letters
to
Hardaway
or
Krefs
as
merely
requesting
to
forward
by
Racket
I
do
not
think
will be
attended
too
.
I
suppose
you
would have a
delightful
time
on
Pargoud
and
you
and
Anna
Clay
P-
buried
the
hatchet
.
Mattie
Knox
has not
yet
returned
Mr
.
Thompson
spent
Saturday
night
here
waiting
for
Pargoud
and
took
home
with him a
stylish
young
lady
Miss
Patty
Robb
.
Your
Pa
says
I
did
not
get
p
to
see
her.
I
feel
uneasy
about
your
vaccination
do
not have
it
done
without
Dr
.
Isom
selecting
the
virus
as
it
is
a
dangerous
thing
to
take
from any
arm
without
being
certain
of its
purity
.
I
am
also
anxious
about
your
little
cold
Pneumonia
and
smallpox
both
here.
Ed
Willson
has the
former
and
several
negroes
on
Ford
place
a
number
of
cases
of
small
pox
about
Old
Lymas
and in that
direction
.
Your
Pa
had a
pleasant
visit
from
Mr
.
Leonards
father
who
with his
wife
are
visiting
their
son
.
Saw
G
.
Ma
on the
7th
I
am
anxious
to
visit
them if
I
can
but
I
am
worried
about
servants
young
girl
in
Kitchen
cant
cook
good
and
Bitties
Ed
in
house
.
Mr
.
Dee-
Ree
just
called
to
say
they were
coming
to
spend
a
few
days
. They had
separated
: at
least
Anna
left
him but
now
it
is
made
up
.
Mr
.
Deckar
seems
acceptable
at
Gen
Sparrows
but they will not
receive
Anna
.
I
really
cannot
tell
the
cause
of their
trouble
although
all
have
talked
to
me
.
Anna
said
Mr
.
D
.
dissipated
&
did
not
provide
for her but
Mrs
.
Sparrow
said
he
did
so
I
cant
tell
.
I
think
Mrs
.
D.-
unhappiness
grows
out
of her
fathers
refusal
to
receive
her and
perhaps
annoys
her
husband
.
It
is
the
community
talk
and
much
is
said
that
is
untrue
.
[Mooty]
has
quit
[illegible
word]
[Peningtons]
store
and
gone
to
Memphis
to
buy
more
drugs
.
Lanier
is
with
Pa
until
he
gets
some
one
your
father
is
[illegible
word]
with
business
[illegible
word]
.
