Dear Mary"
I seat myself to write you a line
in reply to yours, now before me, bearing date March 18
/58 I rec'd also same day letter from 'Jerrie' and am
pleased to learn each that you are enjoying good
health and peace of mind. Long may you live in the
enjoyment of such privilege, and blessings, shall ever
be my prayer for each of you. Recollect Mary however
that you are mortal & born to die. Let this important
fact early engage your attention in view of its
coming and thereby robbed of its terrors.)
I have nothing special to communicate as nothing
of importance has transpired since you left home."
We are driving along about as usual with the
same little noisy family circle around
and Charly just now notwithstanding I am writing
is arguing of me how many sweet cakes will
three eggs make. You wrote I might expect a
Mr Tate for Jerries Buggy & horse but he has not
yet arrived On return trip from the Depot on yesterday
I had the pleasure of meeting your old friend 'King'
& Ellin Complan, of not having rec'd a line from you
