I am in receipt of your favor
of recent date and Mary's is also to hand but a day or so
ago to Jerri in the absence of all or any news of
importance I will make an attempt to write you a line
if but simply to let you know that we are alive and
kicking. You surely cannot expect of me punctual attention
in matters of a regular correspondence, as I have grown
from various causes almost incompetant to the task, but
you may occassionally indulge a reasonable hope of
hearing from me whilst alive. I am at the present writing
not so much as I have generally been for months past as I
am to some extent visited rather more than usual with my
old afflictions'to wit' palpitations, but I hope this will
pass in a few days am I to regain my usual equilibrium
I have been going to sedding ) this week "Wednesday Past" that I
trust accounts measurably for the present attack or unsettled
state of things. The wedding was my neighbors
an acquaintance of Mary's Miss(" Son Tackets' to
Miz Ingram of Carroll County Miss all of which way
I believe quite satisfactory to agreeable. Mr Ingram
I learn was an acquaintance of Parsing Locks and this I
add for Mary benefit or possibly a relation. So enough
of this. You write me you have found a very desirable location
for a mill ) and all the conveniances as timber &c&c. vacant
land &c On this score I can say but little unless I was
