I received your letter a few days ago
but it has been so long since -I wrote that I Scarcely
know how to begin. I am highly pleased that you
have gone through with your examinations as a
Graduate and I wish that you may succeed in deliv-
ering your Speech but would be better pleased
if your Pa could have lived to enjoy it as it was
his whole desire to do so.)
I received a letter from your Sister
about two weeks ago and says she does not think she
will not be able to come up before the first of July her health
has been very bad for about three weeks Dr. Jones
Gag and Lady passed the depot last night on their
way home from Mobile left a letter for Mat from
his Uncle John saying that his Aunt was no better
if anything worse that when he was here the 1 of May
he told me that your Uncle James and Aunt
Penmelia did not like you passing by them so often
and not calling to see them, you must spend
a day or night with them then you return
and make things easy )
Brother Willis and Sister Matilda are in Texas will
return about the 15 of June must lookout for them
on the cars as they expect to call to see me
