My dear Sister;)
I recieved the package
of papers you sent me, and am
very much obliged, I think I
have written to you since we
moved from Goldsboro N.C., but
I have gotten every thing so mixed
up in my head that I dont know
any thing. The fact is I am mad
this morning, and can't tell why.)
I reckon I am blue rather
than mad. I do wish this War
would stop. I know I am
bored "plum to death" with this
kind of life. Setting about on
the ground, in the dirt, and
hands smoked as black as
a "niggers", If I wash them they
are in the same fix, before I
can get in my tent. I believe
