How shall I begin, what shall I say
to you - to think you for your Readiness
in answering my letters so promptly-
I am afarid though you will think
me remiss dearest but I think I
am remarkably clever to write a note [?]
dont you - so candid now and -
till and if your "Lady Love" - is not
in the way of letter writing - or I
should say in the number of letters
a -[?] enough - You say in your letter of
the 1st of April - that "if you could
be with me for one short hour you
could convince me that you loved
me as woman was never yet loved
by man -" as your letter was written
upon "all fools day"- I will let
pass for what I think it was
intended - I wish so much however you
could be here. if only for a short time,"
for I am so anxious to see my
Lover again. And yet why should
I be so anxious to see you again
