Dear Big Sis"
I received your charming little note when I was in Mobile- Was not that a long ways for so small a note to travel? It could not have done it, but for the reason, that it was a sensible note; and if a sensible note, of course, written by a sensible person- I am obliged [illegible word] for your kind reception of my little present; and hope you may be often gratified in a similar way by gifts of more value- Sis, why is it that you will make [mouths] when looking in the glass? Now dont do it- for dont the Immortal Shakespeare say- There was never yet [fair] woman but she made [mouths] in a glass. I suppose this habit accounts for your quiet expression- All practice"
