Dear sister Em-"
I have nothing of importance to write you but as it has been so long since I have written I will commence. I have been very busy for a few weeks past fitting out the children for winter and no little task do I find it. The boys cannot get along as Eddy does with only one new suit of clothes in the winter but have always been accustomed to having their clothes washed every two weeks as they do in summer but I have just told them that I would take a stick to them before they should soil their clothes so therefore you may expect them to tremble for fear of the rod that part of housekeeping I like well enough however but I do despise the cooking for they are all fond of high living. The General I must humor in his whims for goodies but the children the little ones may go without if they are not satisfied
