Dear Sister
I have not heard from you at home since my arrival here but have written several letters home. I sent one a letter over a week since by Col. [Chenneworth] who will mail it in Ky to father. I sent in that letter one that Mrs. Reese wrote me. I want Aunt Eliza to send it to her mother also one from Mrs. Hoyt to be sent to her relations in Springfield. We have heard to day that Selma was burned and Gen. Chalmers Brigade badly cut up it may not be true however- John & Bob are both with Chalmers & Billy was also in the fight we have not heard from them yet.
