Your letter rec�d am glad to hear that the socks, pen &c reached there all right. Lynne sent a book to Gertrude and I sent a portal probably as Edward was not well. She did not receive them on her birthday. Do tell me all about Edward. Why did he leave his position until he had secured some place that he was sure would pay him as well or did they tell him at Braggs that he was no longer needed. he seemed to think last summer that they appreciated him & if any one left it would be the other traveling clerk. I do hope they did not dismiss him for any fault they found with him. loose management
