West Point, Miss April 28th 1891"
Mrs. Wm D. Chapin
Mrs. Chapin- my sister Mary solicited me to write you of Mothers conidition, as she was too closely engaged to write. She was taken last Wednesday with paralysis on the left side and has been entirely helpless since, for two days, she seemed and probably was unconscious, but since she has been perfectly conscious though she is weak and articulates with difficulty. I brought Chapin and Lynn with me and shall leave Lynn if not both of them My sisters and friends are very attentive and considerate and she has been and will be cared for as well as possible. I have her business matters in good shape and for the year.
