Dear Sister
Sack I have wrote hotoe since the Battle to several of the family & today I have wrote to Sister D.M.L. & needing soime things from
home. I write that you may sent them the first chance, send me my hat if it has not been worn out one or two prs socks & if any thing that you can make me one or two colored shirts do so & send them as I have lost one or two since I last wrote to you & am very near out & for sometime it has been impossible to get any thing of the kind & you may send my coats if they are not two much trouble to the one coming to the company Sack this not intended as a letter of information so you will not expect one of length
My health is good & has been since I last joined the company on the Battle field I want you to be more punctual in writing to me than you have been, out of us many you should write so that I could hear from home at least once a week but instead of that I have not heard for some time about once a month is as often as I hear from home Sack let the family read my note with the best wishes of the writer
