My Dear Sallie
This being the second letter I have written since Col. Wall left and not having heard from since they arrived, I have no news of interest to write only I am still here fat & saucy weigh 176 lbs & fattening every day we have beautiful weather every thing and every boddy enjoyes the beauties and gayeties of a delightful May & its pleasures My bond from home has not arrived yet from home I drew up a petition presented to Gen Ames the others day Wednesday a petition to let me go home and remain until called for the officers of this place approved it so did Col. Bose recomended and I hope but (bear) it will return favorable
