My Dearest Wife
I was released today 11 0 clock A.M. without trial jury or examination of witness ___ public presence of anyone I will leave for New Orleans tonight June 3rd 1869 and return as soon as posible tis not worth while for me to try to describe my feelingon being released although I feel under no obliga--tions to the U.S. Military for favors rendered I had made up my mind to endure anthing they (my prosecutors) should im -pose on me and if they had any favors to extend I was not thankful in no degree what--ever as it was a favor not
