Dearest Sallie, This day a week ago I left the hospital at Chattanooga and came here to give room there for more sick soldiers. I wrote you a letter there about the 19th and have been thinking for several days that I would write again but I have been so very busy that I have not had time. The evening I got here I met with Dr. Yates who married in Panola County a daughter of I. N. Davis and lived there a while but now lives in Texas. As soon as he found out who I was and where from, he asked me if I wouldn't rather have and office in a hospital than to stay in camp. I told him I would anyhow until my health got better and as they are establishing a new hospital here. He had me appointed clerk and steward of the hospital and I have been at work all this week getting the thing started. I had to go to Atlanta on the cars for some dishes and things - was gone 2 nights and a day.
