Camp Near Dalton Ga Mar 16th '64 )
Dear Ma )
as I have once
more the opportunity of sending
you a letter knowing that you
would like very much to hear
from me I have no news of interest
to write There is a great many of the
Boys getting furlows now three
of our company have drawn
furlows and have sent them up
They are looking for them back
every day Dick Leigh [?] and Jimme
Doyle are too that got them."
There is no appearance of a fight
here since every thing is still
in front I do not think that
there is any yankees nearer than
Chattanooga if there is it is
but a few. The Boys have all
gone out on Corps drill to day
