Trigg
County
May
the
17th
1863
Dear
Margery
I
landed
here at
Bim
Clarks
on the
night
of the
16th
very
tired
and
am
resting
today.)
I
am
well
and
hope
these
few
lines
find
you
and the
children
in
good
health.)
I
feel
verry
much
like
I
had
rather
be at
hone
with
you
and the
children
than to be
here.
"
I
have
never
had
such
serious
feelings
before
when
I
was from
home
I
shall
try
and
arrange
my
Bisness
and
start
home
as
soon
as
I
can.)
I
have not Been to
see
any of the
rest
yet
But will
start
out
to(morrow)
and will
lose
no
time
in
arranging
ny
Bisness
to
[."?]
Back
as
soon
as
I
can
conclude
when
I
will
start
there
so
I
do
not
want
you
to be
uneasy
untill
you
see
me
for
I
am
determined
to
come
as
soon
as
I
can.)
I
have not
asertained
any
thing
about
my
Bisness
to
night
sow
I
have
nothing
on that
score
to
rite
.
I
want
you
to
take
special
care
of
yourself
&
the
children
when
I
think
of the
Distance
that
we
are
apart
I
feel
that
I
would
much
rather
be
thare
with
you
I
want
you
to
recollect
that
life
is
unsertain
and
Death
is
sure
and if
I
should
never
be
permitted
to
see
you
again
it
is
my
wish
that
you
should
train
our
children
up
in the
way
that will be
pleasing
in the
sight
of the
lord
that
thare
last
days
may
be
thare
Best
Days.)
I
believe
I
cant
rite
now
more
at
[."?]
I
will
rite
again
Before
I
leave
her to
gow
to
Jackson
and will be at
home
as
soon
as
I
can
I
want
you
to
see
Isaac
and be
sure
to
git
him to have the
potatoes
set
out
and have the
ground
prepared
well
.
Nothing
at
presant
But
remain
yours
in the
Bonds
of
love.
