Transcript	Camp near Fredericksberg Va June 8th 1863 Dear Margery" I embrace the presant opportunity of Dropping you a few lines to let you now how we are getting along." We are now at Fredericksberg and are expecting a fight every day we are in full view of the Yankey camp but we are on one side of the River and they are on the other with the exception of some troops they have been crossing over on this side for several days how many are across we cant tell but they have a long Picket line on this side But some think that they are moving away and that thare will not be any fight her thare is evidently something out but I cant tell what some think that they are withdrawing and that Genl Lee will make a forward move and will probably go into Maryland but it is all conjecture it is imposable for us to now what is gowing on here untill we receive orders." The helth is tolerable good at this time.) I have not heard from the Boys left at [Pettirsburg?] since we left them." Maybe when you hear from me again that we will be some distance from her. the Seventeenth Regt has gone up the River toward Culpeper. they left here before we got here sow we did not get to see any of the Boys." I think that we will gow in that direction in a few days if we do not get a fight here.) I want to here from home very much." I have not got a letter since I left home and nearly crazy to hear free you.) Sow I want you to wright as soon as you get this and Direct your letters to Fredericksberg Va 42nd Miss Regt. Davis Brigade. Give my best love to Mar and Pop for I am afeard that they will think hard of me for not going to see them the morning I left." Give my Respects to all my friends and accept the Best Respects and love of your husband untill Death sow farewell for a while." T.G. Clark.
