Boston—Paul P. Haran, formerly of our audit staff, has
accepted the position of assistant controller at Boston
College.
Paul E. Roche, formerly of our Integrated Services
Department, resigned to become controller of the
Cooley Construction Co.
Chicago—Carol I Ebert left to accept the job of financial
and administrative vice president at T. A. Chapman,
a retail store in Milwaukee.
Steven Ernst has joined Ernst Fuel & Supply Co.,
Warren, Michigan.
William Frewert accepted a position as secretary for
Warner Electric Brake and Clutch Co.
John Hauch resigned and is now secretary-treasurer
of Abart Gear and Machine Co.
Donald Horan has accepted a position as controller
of the Radiant Division, Electronetic Steel, Inc.
Phil Leone is now secretary-treasurer for General
Nutrition Corporation, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Minneapolis—Two former TRB&S men now working for
Marquette Corporation have received promotions. Allan
Fonfara was elected treasurer and assistant secretary
and will continue as controller. Owen L. Herrmann was
named assistant treasurer and will continue as tax and
insurance manager.
New York—John A. Miller, an associate consultant in
Management Services, left to accept a position with
the American Management Association.
William M. Williams, formerly a senior tax accountant,
resigned to enter private law practice in Middletown,
New York.
San Diego—Carlos A. Cazares, formerly of the tax staff,
has joined the legal staff of Miller & Evatt.
Albert R. Maschal, formerly of the audit staff, accepted
a position with Robert McMullan & Son, Inc.
Clark Sarchet, formerly of the audit staff, accepted a
position as controller for William H. Raley Co.
Boston—Hugh Dysart, Jr. has been re-elected treasurer
of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.
James M. Lynch was given a special award for his
article "Internal Budgetary Controls; an Independent
Accountant's View," published in the Massachusetts
CPA Review.
Donald C. Wiese has recently been elected president
and treasurer of the "274 (E) (1) Club," a group of
certified public accountants and attorneys which he
organized a few months ago. This group holds a
luncheon meeting every third week for the discussion
of tax topics and the exchange of ideas.
Mr. Wiese has also been elected to the Advisory
Board of Northeastern University Tax Forums.
Buffalo—Donald J. Mumbach was co-host with the district
director of the Internal Revenue Service on a
Buffalo TV program. The programs were shown March
12th and April 2nd; the subject was "You and Your
Income Tax."
Mr. Mumbach has been elected president, 1967-68,
of the Buffalo Area Chapter New York State Society
of CPAs.
Robert P. Schermerhorn was elected as chairman
of the New York State Council on Accountancy.
Chicago—In connection with the new public service
project of the Illinois Society of CPAs, Donald Haus-man
answered federal tax inquiries on The Pat Sheridan
Show and The Bill Veeck Show.
John P. Bly and Philip L. Hinze also participated in
this service which was called "Dial a Tax Expert."
Dayton—James C. Bresnahan is program director-
Dayton Chapter, NAA and vice chairman—Ohio Society
of CPAs Management Services Committee.
L. W. Buenzow has been named chairman of the
Bylaws Committee of the Dayton Chapter—Ohio Society
of CPAs and vice-chairman of the Ohio Society
of CPA's Bylaws Committee.
Denver—Charles Husted moderated a discussion on
"Retail Inventory Shortage Control" at the May 11th
meeting of the Colorado Controllers Congress.
