CPA
EXAMINATION
NOVEMBER
1964
The Los Angeles Office continued to set new highs for the number of successful candidates completing the examination for a
single office. Their new record is 20, compared to their old one of 17, set in the May 1964 exam. The total for the Firm was
101. • For the second examination in a row two men from the same office were among 16 candidates to receive Honorable
Mention in the competition for the Elijah Watt Sells Award of the American Institute of CPAs. In the May 1964 exam it was
Pittsburgh. This time two Houston men have won the honor: Rick C. Reed and William O. Strange. Rick and Bill are 1964
graduates of Rice and Oklahoma Universities, respectively. The Minnesota CPA Society's Harold C. Utley Award for highest
grades in the state was won by Richard A. Snyder of our Minneapolis office. Dick graduated from the University of Minnesota
in 1964. • Thirty H&S offices had one or more candidates complete the examination successfully.
