NEW PARTNERS H&S Mr. Bostick, born in Bakersfield, California in 1915, and a 1939 graduate of University of California (Berkeley) with a BS degree and membership in Beta Alpha Psi, joined McLaren, Goode, West & Co. in San Francisco in 1945. He was in their New York office at the time of the merger in 1952, became a principal at that time, and returned to San Francisco in 1955. From 1958 to i960 he practiced in San Diego with another CPA and then rejoined H & S as a principal in our office there. Mr. Bostick has been chairman of the professional development committee of the California CPA Society's San Diego Chapter. He lives in San Diego with his wife, Eileen, and their two children. Mr. Chandler, who was born in 1920 in Locust Grove, Iowa, attended the University of Omaha, where he was on the Deans Honor Roll, and received a BS degree in 1947 from Creighton University. The following year he joined Irwin-Imig Company in Omaha, and in 1956 he became a principal of H & S when the two firms merged. In 1962-63 he spent a year in the Executive Office reviewing audit reports and assisting the SEC Department. Mr. Chandler has been president of the Nebraska Society of CPAs. He lives with his wife, Reeva, and their son in Belleview. Mr. Crawford was born in Montreal in 1927 and received his early education in Canada. He joined De-loitte, Plender, Griffiths & Co. in its New York office in 1945, and came with H&S when the U.S. practice of DPG&Co. was merged with ours in 1952. The same year he received a BBA degree cum laude from Pace College, and in 1959 he became a principal. He has been a member of the New York State CPA Society committee on administration of the Society's office and is currently on its committee on relations with educational institutions. Mr. Crawford lives in Allendale, New Jersey, with his wife, Eileen, and their two sons. Mr. Fawls was born in New York City in 1923 and was educated there, receiving a BBA degree in 1943 from Manhattan College, where he was a member of the Pen and Sword honor society and the Student Council. In 1946 he joined the Firm in the office we maintained at that time on 44th Street, New York, and in 1954 came with it to 67 Broad Street when it was combined with the office downtown. He became a principal in 1957. Mr. Fawls lives with his wife, Mary, and their four children in New Hyde Park, New York. Mr. Gilbert was born in Duluth in 1925 and is a 1948 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BBA degree. After employment as an intern with H&S in Los Angeles, and after working for three years for the Minnesota Income Tax Division, he returned to the Los Angeles Office in 1952. He spent 1956 to 1958 in the Denver Office, was appointed a principal in 1959, and transferred from Los Angeles to Philadelphia in 1962. Mr. Gilbert is a member of the taxation committee of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs and has written for the magazine, Taxes. He lives with his wife, Phyllis, and their daughter in Strafford, Pennsylvania. Mr. Hatfield was born in 1924 in Hoquiam, Washington. He attended Washington State College and was graduated with a BBA degree in 1949 from the University of Washington, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and other honorary fraternities. He also held a teaching fellowship at the University. In 1950 he joined the Medford, Oregon, office of Stratford, Visse & Co. and became a senior accountant on the H&S Portland Office staff when the two firms merged in 1954. He was appointed a principal in 1959. Mr. Hatfield lives in Portland with his wife, Bobbye, and their two children. Mr. Kupfer was born in 1927 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and graduated magna cum laude in 1949 from the University of Notre Dame with a PhB degree. He joined the Firm's Chicago Office that year, started specializing in taxes in 1953, and became a principal in 1957. He transferred to the Executive Office in i960. He is chairman of the estate planning committee of the New York State Society of CPAs. He won third place in the H&S Best Paper Award contest in 1955 for an article on taxes which appeared in the NAA Bulletin and second place in 1961 for one which was published by The Journal of Accountancy. He lives in Westfield, New Jersey, with his wife, Bette, and their five children. 4
