About this collection

Audio interviews, mostly regarding North Mississippi Hill Country blues music.

Matthew Joseph interned with the Blues Archive at the University of Mississippi for a month during the summer of 2010. At the time, he was a sophomore working toward a Bachelor of Arts at Yale University, majoring in history with an emphasis on music and society and Latin America. During his internship Matt Joseph interviewed musicians, historians, and others about North Mississippi Hill Country blues music. Trips to the Hill Country Picnic and B. B. King Homecoming concerts yielded a number of interviews. During these and other trips around the state, Mr. Joseph also managed to interview music museum and foundation directors and the well-known costume designer Manuel.
